MEMORANDUM FOR: Deputy Director for Administration
SUBJECT Weekly Report
1. de aated Headquarters on 7 November for a
three week TDY to
25X1A 2. The ARS-I installation is proceeding smoothly.
Installation and testing of the hardware is complete. Operator
training is now underway.
3. DATEX is installed at Headquarters and is undergoing
tests. The contractor's programmers will arrive next week to
continue the software development.
4. There will be an estimated 10 to 15 day delay in com-
5X1A letin installation of the new Uninterrupted Power System at the
base. The motor caught fire in the initial stages
of checkout and requires complete rewinding. The contractor
attributes the fire to faulty insulation and has assumed full
responsibility.
25X1C S. members of the - OC staff were
5X1C briefed on t e Ilea quarters Area Transmission System (HATS) pro-
ject ject which is directed toward upgrading the Agency's microwave
network. - OC showed strong interest in the system and indi-
cated a desire to join the proposed network.
25X1A 6. Chief of Station,n has reported that
5X1A officials informally indicate to him that a request for a
5X1C SKYLINK installation would receive a favorable response. The
is expected to forward a formal request in the near

7. The SKYLINK terminal was declared opera-
tional on 1 November. The terminal will not have secure voice
capability initially due to delayed deliveries of VADAC vocoders.
There are nowt operational SKYLINK terminals working into the
K11C - base via the satellite.

8. In the Pacific, are testing
SKYLINK terminals through the with the W base terminal. Operation is delaye due to the failing
health of that satellite. The satellite is malfunctioning
several times a week, causing loss of SKYLINK circuits.
9. Training:
