USIB: A representative from OC-E has been assigned as Chairman ire Communications Task Group for the Human Sources Committee of USIA. The group is charged with examining technical problems associated with development of secure telephonic confer- encing among selected country teams and Washington Intelligence Community analysts. 4. AEC: The DD/CO met with a representative of ABC Communi- cations w -"was interested in our capability to provide communica- tions support to one of AEC's domestic projects. He was advised that we are not equipped to provide the assistance required. S. KG-13's: Due to the continuing lack of suitable new crypto equipments from NSA, a decision has been made to try to 25X A acquire additional KG-13's from other Government agencies to meet the needs of the - and Secure Voice programs over the next several years. A cable request has been sent to the Director, NSA, asking their assistance in locating up to 400 units. Based on informal information that Air Force holds a large contingency stockpile of these units, a memorandum was also sent to Major General Edge, Director of Command Control and Communications, USAF, asking his assistance. 5X1A 6. Testing of the SKYLINK circuit ~5X1A to headquarters 3. will return to duty after two weeks annual leave on Tuesday, 10 September 1974. 4. Training: 25X1A 25X1 A ~5X1A The training workload for the week of 9 September Is projected to be 12 courses of instruction with 57 students enrolled.
