SUBJECT : Weekly Report
1. Department of Defense: The Office of Assistant
Secretary ofDefensefor ommunications has been reorgan-
ized and is now called the Office of the Secretary of Defense,
Director, Telecommunications and Command and Control Systems.
Mr. Thomas C. Reed has been assigned to the new position by
the Secretary of Defense.
2. In a cable not coordinated with the
Office oP ommun cations, Wi3 and Division D have asked for
Chief of Station comments conce he pro osed establish-
ment of a four-manteam in the near
future. Recent traffic volume re orts re ect that the three-
man communications unit is already over-taxed.
4. NSA has finally decided to take over and
t e Agency s receiver site building for their Project
The transmitter site will not be retained.

levels. The next Progress Report on this problem is due

2. SKYLINK installation will begin
an 6 Februa .
3. OC-DATACOM: Effective 10 February, OC-DATACOM shift
hours will be syn cironized with the Cable Secretariat and
Signal Center to assist in the forming of carpools.
4. OSA: recently returned _ Opera-
tions Offzcer, will assume his new duties as Chief, OSA
Communications on 11 February 1974.
S. Overseas Briefing: The briefing for overseas senior
officer asses will be held - from 11-15 February 1974.

the week of 11 - 16 February:
