ELECTRICAL WORK 4e5: Delete in entirety and substitute the following; GENERAL.--This work consists of providing feeders and interior lighting for the buildings marked Item 4. (a) WIRING METHODS.--In the Item 4 building adjacent to Item 10, the electrical installation shall conform to all requirements of the National Electrical Code, Article 500, Hazardous Locations, Class I, Division 2. In the other Item 4 building, the electrical installation shall conform to all requirements of the National Electrical Code, Article 500, Hazardous Locations, Class III, Division 2. Minimum conductor size shall be No. 12 AWG Lighting Fixtures and shall be 150-watt each. (b) SWITCHING-Fixtures in each building shall be switched as a group from one weatherproof and raintight enclosed circuit-breaker located on the exterior of the building adjacent to the entrance. Breaker enclosure shall be 40 inches above finished grade. Breaker shall be 2P-SN, 25-ampere 20-ampere trip, 120-volt, similar and equal to Westinghouse Type MOframe, (c) FEEDER.,--This shall be connected to the transformer bank (See Paragraph 10,58 b) and shall be 4-wire, 3-phase, to supply above lighting and provide for future expansion.. Form No, 8 conductors in li-inch galvanized rigid steel conduit shall be routed down the transformer pole and underground at a minimum depth of 24 inches to a watertight junction box mounted on the exterior wall of the first Item 4 building. Junction box shall be mounted directly below the lighting circuit-breaker specified in Paragraph 4.5 (b) above and one phase of the feeder shall be connected to that breaker through a short conduit. SCOPE OF WORK.=-This part of the specification includes the installation complete of a suspended type unit cooler in the film vault with the refrigeration compressor on platform above the suspended ceiling. New Paragraph: The unit cooler is a Carrier Unit Model 15M762 and is to be installed in the outside (S.W.) corner of the vault so as to blow down the aisle causing acircular air motion around the vault. Cooling unit shall be suspended by four (4) 3/8" rods from the ceiling joists, with the bottom of unit approximately 7'-6" above the floor. Provide suitable bridging for securing hanger rods in proper position. '(b) The refrigeration compressor is'a Chrysler Unit Model R-160 with 2 H.P., 208-volt, three-phase motor and starter. The unit shall be mounted on the ceiling joists above the cooling unit. Provide- a platform approxi- mately 4'-6" constructed of 2"x6" first-grade planking to be mounted above the ceiling joists for supporting the unit. Provide anti-vibration units as recoffmcnded by the manufacturer for supporting the compressor on the . platform. Provide flexible connectors in all rigid pipe and tubing connectionu (c) Provide all necessary copper tubing and fittings, etc.., to properly connect the cooling unit and compressor. Provide 2" copper tubing for drain line from pan below unit cooler and extend to funnel drain as required under plumbing work. Provide copper tubing with shut-off valve for water supply to condenser through automatic valve with drain line to'funnel drain provided under plumbing work. Water supply line shall be insulated, see Paragraphs E.21 Awe E.30., and 19.31. (d) Install and adjust all controls provided for automatic temperature control and compressor operation including all safety devices.' Room thermostat shall operate solenoid valve in liquid refrigerant line to cooling unit. Provide check valve in suction line to control shut-down back surge of refrigerant.. Compressor shall operate automatically on pressure controls. Provide secondary pressure ccntrol for emergency cut-out. All equipment previously installed with the cooling system shall be re-installed. (e) Unit cooler fan motor shall operate continually and will be provided with outside switch and pilot light under electrical work. Compressor motor shall operate automatically through pressure control and magnetic starter as provided with the unit. (f) Insulate suction line with coinine'rcial insulating rubber tubing or other approved material. 8.1. Delete the words "and lights". Insert the words "and lights" immediately following "unit". 8.9. Insert "pendant" following the word "industrial". 8.11. CIRCUITS.-- Add the following: A.similar pilot light, except with green lamps, shall be provided for the fan motor and shall be connected to show when the fan motor is energized and shall be located 12 inches above the red pilot light. Now Paragraph: 225 KVA TRANSFORMER SUBSTATION.--This shall be for transformation from 12.5/7.2 KV, 4-wire, 3-phase, to 208?120--volts, 4-wire, 3-phase, and shall consist of three (3) single-phase transformers mounted, equipped and connected similar to the existing 300 KVA substation. 225 KVA substation shall be supported by the main interior warehouse walls at the point of intersection, and shall have a structural steel frame, steel pipe poles with wooden croesarms for the high voltage line, painted wooden slat platform and railing. Necessary fused disconnect switches, arresters, wiring, etc., shall be furnished and installed. The high-voltage line now supplying the 300 KVA bank shall be extended to supply the 225 KVA bank also. Transformers shall be outdoor distribution type, similar and equal to General Electric Company "Pyranol"-filled.. Secondary conductors shall be 750 MCM and 500 MCM for phase wires and neutral, respectively. Outdoor-type circuit-breaker cabinet, accessible from outside the substation platform, shall be provided and connected to the transformer secondaries. Four (4) circuit-breakers shall be provided, all with 600-ampere frames, two (2) with 225-ampere trip and two (2) with 300-ampere trip. 9.59. New Paragraph: REROUTE EXISTING FEEDER.--One of the secondary feeders presently connected to the 300 KVA bank shall be rerouted so as to be connected to a 300-ampere breaker in the breaker cabinet at the 225 KVA bank. These existing feeders each consist of four (4) 300 MCM conductors and the feeder to be rerouted shall be selected by the Contracting Officer. 9.60.
