Research, Development and Production Review Board
I. Meeting #56 of the Research, Development and Production Review Board
was held in the OC Conference Room at 11+30 hours on 2 May 1956.

II. Under Agenda Item 1, Old Business:
The Minutes of Meeting #55 and the cial meeting of 19 April 1956
Were approved, and it was noted that name was 25X1

and attending the special meeting on 19 April 1956.
III. Under Agenda Item II, New Business:
1. Report was made to the board of the current projects at the
Research and Development Laboratory.
2. The Operations and Training Division reported as follows:
a. That a decision had been made to permit the Laboratory
to construct five AR-2 units for operation from 6 volt source and a
balance of units to be AR-3 type with a 12 voltage primary power
source. In the future any additional AR-3's will utilize 12 volts
as a power source.

b. A survey had been made to determine how many base station
units were available in Comma stock. It was determined

evaluation of the CV-1 transistorized converter. It had been determined
that the present units would not operate satisfactorily with an AC-DC
type of receiver, but this was not considered to be a serious problem
g. Two military equipments were being investigated as to
their use for cargo chute location and/or drop zone beaconry. They
are the AN/PRN-3 and the AN/PRN-2. Units will be obtained for evaluation.
3. Discussion of budgeting for development of items that may
go into production during Fiscal Years 1957 and 1958. The following
