1. Meeting #55 of the i lesearchi Development and Production Review Board
was held in the OC Conference Roan at 1330 hours on 4 April 1956.

1. A discuis? on was '..eld concerning an informal request of US .F tr
as to the availability of 'M RS-6A's. One of the saliant features
which was brought out in this discussion was the fact that, of the ~o+
OC-E 2500 RS-Ws which had been purchased 21+71 still remained in stock.
Action It was decided that the USAF should he encouraLTed to make a formal
request to the Agency for these sets cnd that the Office of
Comr,=ications world recoma^.end approval of this request by the DD/P.
2. A rtund?o=.in on the status of the cargo chug. locator system
was presented. This project was suspended by the Research, Develop-
ment and Prcxdur,tion Review Board in its Meeting ff 51 of 7 December 1956;
howee ver, of a working group of the DD/P Materiel Board
OC Member had recently told that a new requirement for the locator
of DD/P would be fox-thcomin.g in the near future. It was decided that the
Materiel Office of CamtxunicatiofG wouil3 make no move: Until the DDIP Materiel.

mechanism to inform the Research, Development and Production Raview

b. AR-2 and AR It was pointed out that five A'2-2's
should be ccmzga_ete by 1 April 1.956 and that five JI-3' a should
be really by the middle of June 1956. The question arose as to
whether it would be advisable to make ten AR-2'e rather than five
AR-2's and five AR-3's. Fabrication of the ten AR-2's could be
OC-P, coaleteu by approximately mid May. Representatives of OC-P.,
OC-m , OC-(W and OC-E are to v3 ai t the Laboratory and are to view the:
& breadboard model of the AR-3 and discuss its operation.; and
OC-L advantages with the project engineer. They are to a ke a decision

d. RS-11., The transistorized version of the BS-11
receiver was delivered byDon the date of this meeting. It
is to be shown to the CC Staff at its next meeting. All of the
components of the vacuum tube version of the Re-11 have been
received except the RR-11-B7 which is due April 15. The Laboratory
has tested these units and believes that the defects which have
been found should be fairly easy to remedy. These units have
been forwarded to the Contractor for minor modifications.

representatives of the various elements of DD P and OC attended.
During this meeting it was agreed that cc-tability
