Under Agenda Item 11-1, New Businesss la A discussion of the budget revision for Fiscal Year 1958 and of proposed budget for Fiscal Year 1959, was initiated. The O &T representatives indicated that they had not had sufficient time to review the material and therefore requested a delay. The Budget Officer indicated that the budget would have to be kept within the total dollars approved in the estimated 1958 budget, 25X1A namely, Since the proposed budget revision for 1958 exceeds this by a considerable amount, the Board requested that OC-O& the O&T and Engineering Divisions, on an Ad Hoc basil, quickly 00-B review the budget and made recommendations to the Board as to ACTION which items should be deferred. 2. OC-,E, in regard to the budget, noted that since the estimate had been made, considerable increase in development coat. has taken place and therefore, keeping within the estimated budget would mean, in effect, reducing development projects considerably, below the level which could be satisfactorily carried with the personnel now aboard. It was suggested that in order to prevent a. similar situation a year from now, that any items deleted from the. 1958 budget be automatically transferred and incorporated in the estimated. 1559 budget. The Ad Hoc Committee was directed to ta}te this action in their budget considerations. .
