Subject: procurement of a bulletproof car.
1. It is requested that a bulletproof car be procured
for the use of the Comptroller's Office, Finance Division.
2. The specifications for such a car should be as
a. The car should be a four door sedan of
standard make, large enough to carry the
additional weight of the protective devices.
b. It should be equipped with bulletproof glass
throughout, and should have laminated fibre-
glass or other bulletproof material between
the panels and on either side of the engine.
c. In addition it should have such other features
as are usually found in a vehicle of this type,
including an alarm system, bulletproof tires,
concealed gun racks, etc.
3. Insofar as is possible, the car should have no visible
appurtenances which would distinguish it from any other automobile of
similar make.
4. The Inspection and Security Division has recomiaended
that, for security reasons, this car not be garaged with other Agency
vehicles at the car pool. Arrangements for separate storage and
maintenance will be made by this Office.
