Because NI production proceeds simulta-

ties of the NIS contributing agencies, it is infeasible for 031 to assign
priorities for photographic support in terns of certain areas or of
selected subjects. Occasionally, world events require priority production
of certain MIS eelorrsents, the most recent example being the INS on
Antarctica produced in response to U. S. participation in the International
Geophysical Year progra:n-e. The ad hoc nature of those production reequire-
rrente, however, precludes establishing meaningful, long-term require-
ments for their photographic support.
