1. Reference is made to your memorandum dated 18 April 1956,
subject as above, and enclose=re thereto.
2. Subject to the restrictions set forth in paragraph 3 hereof,
no objection is interposed to the abstracting, reproduction, and
use of certain portions of NIS on Area 26 as proposed by the Army
Chemical Corps Intelligence Agency.
3. The entire content of any NI` publication is National Intel-
ligence, and is subject to the special controls established for the
safeguarding of such intelligence. In particular, National Intelligence
may not be shown to or discussed with representatives of any foreign
governmen. or international body except y specific authorisation of
the Director of Central Intelligence in accordance with the provisions
of National Security Council Intelligence Directive No. 1 (Revised
3/23/52). The information presented under ' Comments on Principal
Sources`' requires special handling and is not releasable to foreign
nationals under any circ=umstances.
