MEMORANDUM FOR THE RECORD
SUBJECT: NIS Coverage of Entities within main NIS Areas
During his visit today the DDI said he felt the NIS should expedite
the publication of a separate study on Nepal. He recognized that basic
information on this entity exists in published NIS, but that it should be
pulled together and "maintained" and published as a handy unit. I
explained that this problem, specifically with respect to Nepal and
a half dosen or so other such areas had been the subject of special
OBI attention within the past few months, but that action had been
delayed because of State's production situation, revamping of their
priorities and production, etc. The DDI's final thought was that
appropriate action should be taken on Nepal.
