2. It was announced that JMC has approved the Tentative NIS
Production. Schedule - FY 1950 subject to the receipt of adequate.. funds.
3e It was also announced that copies of the Tentative NIS
Production. Schedule - FY 1950, in the amounts required, have been
distributed-to the Agencies. Members were reminded that the classification

Air Force only have been received in C/Ba., The general position of
Army.,is as follows:

The general position of Air Force is that all Department of the Air Force
contributions for the FY 191+9 Schedule received in G/Ba up to 30 June
25X1 X7 1949 are releasible under the conditions stated in.the G/Ba
memorandum of 5 April 1949.. The general positions of State and Navy have
not yet been determined.
The Chairman pointed out that while a general statement from each
Agency. is desired, each may at any time indicate specific modification
concerning any contribution. Moreover, to ensure complete coordination,
an Agency may feel free to attach a statement to each contribution as to
its.releasibility.
5. Memoranda requesting statements regarding releasibility 10 25X1 X7 of N material to be produced in FY 1930 were distributed to the
ers.
6. The Petroleum Supplement to NIS was discussed. It was the
consensus that, prior to definitive action with regard to the Supplement
Program, the following decisions must be made:
a. What agency or activity appears best suited to produce
the petroleum intelligence required by the NIS, bearing in
mind that whatever agency produces the Petroleum Supplement
will also produce Subsection 62C (Petroleum)*
b., The nature and extent of the support needed to carry
out this, additional production requirement.
c. Method of approach to the Petroleum Industry for
information.

Members were requested to determine informally within their Agencies by the
next meeting their Agency views on these matters in order that formal
recommendations on the production of a Petroleum Supplement may be made to
the DCI and IAC.
7. The next meeting was set for 1000 hours, Thursday, 23 June 1949.
