The members indicated their approval of such dissemination, and agreed to notil D/H as to their requirements for copies of this Report, The Air Force member suggested that a number of changes be made in the Report which, he ftaelt, would result in its being more readily understandable to the user. Any further suggestions which the membora may have should be submitted to D/B for consideration prior to issuance of the next Quarterly Report, which is scheduled for 30 September 1,952, 6. With regard to the production for the month of August, the Vice- Chairraaan said that as of this date only four Sections have, been submitted to D/B out of a scheduled corrimitient of 63 Sections. Inasmuch as many of these Sections are defections from the FY 1952 Schedule, he urged the members to eexaetaine the status of these Sections with a view to having them completed and submitted to D/B at an early date in an effort to meet the August production gam, 'r, The State member referred to the agreement regarding the return by 1)/B of manuscript copies of publIa d IS eler.-onts to the producing agencies. (Refer to paragraph 7, MS Com atttoe ISeeting No. 335). He pointed out that time would not pert it producers to perune all of the edited textas, and that his agency would prefor to receive only those which it opceificaall r requested. The '?.ice-Chairman assurrd the State member that this procedure would be followed with regard to the State produced contributions. S. The Army member raised the question of the possibility of placing uniform control state-nent& on !-IS material. fie stated that Department of Defense regulations require that outgoing material be stamped, "Special, Handling Pequired Tot releaslble to Foreign Nationals." CIA regulations require the material to be stamped, "U.S. Officials Onlyr." Consequently# in order to comply uwith the regulations of his aageney, as well as with those of CIA@ the Array member is required to use both control statements. The Cc ittee discussed ways and means of implementing the , vey of user reaction to the T7IS which it was agreed should be uxertaken as soon as practicable. (Refer to paragraph 31. NIS Ccw ittee Meeting No. 136). It was agreed that each member would draw up a list of the specific points which his agency feels should be checked. These lists are to be submitted to D/$ two weeks hence where they will be consolidated and presented to they Committee at a later meeting. 10.
