4m The Vice-Chairman referred to the Commqi-ttee's decision to rev-Jew the
tentative FY 1953 production schedule during the last week in Nay, with a final
review to be conducted during the second week in June, The Vice-Chairman
requested the mernhers to subj;l.it tentative revisions to D/B for consolidation
and consideration by the Conrnittee irhen the 1953 schedule in reviewwreed. He
instructed the members to include in their proposed revisions all sections whicb
are doubtful of completion during the present fiscal year so that they may be
incorporated in the final FY 1953 schedule ? Following discussion it was ag;?r?eed
that the proposed revisions would, be submitted just prior to the date the
Committee undertakes. its final review of the F! 1953 schedule,

manship is excellent, and that the Chapter II study., from a graphics, cartographic,
and publication standpoint will not be difficult to process. He stated further
that the material on Chapters IV, V,. and VI is voluminc s, and the real question
is what to use from this large amount of available information. He estimated that
Section 41 (Population) is 45% complete, while Sections 45, 46, and 52 (IIealth and
Sanitation, Public Nelfare, and Structure of the Governm nt) are 505' complete, The
raw material for Section 64C is being collected in Japan but the Section will be
produced in Washington, These studies also will be coa.pietd. by I July.
6. The Navy number referred to the revision of the Chapter VIII studies on
HIS 39 (China) and P-IS la (Korea),, As the northern and aouthern portions of these
areas will require different treatment in some elementut, the Committee determined
that, where applicable, the studies would be broken down into Parts A and B with
Part A covering North China and 'North Korea (Communist) and Bart B 'covering South
China and South Korea (Hationali.st)
