The purpose of this letter is to forward you a copy of my
cost of living report. I understand the Agency has approved
certain measures to help us out here, and I believe the
attached paper may assist you and the Agency with the final
determinations. If you are in position to expedite placing
25X1A6a the new regulations into effect, I will be most grateful. The
cost of living is the highest I have ever experienced.
I anticipated before I came down that costs would be high, but
they have gone far beyond initial planning.
The job is going very well and enjoys good progress. Excellent
relationships have developed with the contractor, and those few
problems we have had are readily resolved. I have enclosed a
few pictures showing general progress today.
DA I /-\U d Evy and I enjoy living in very much. As I recently
25X1A6a expressed myself to we are roughing it somewhat down
here but roughing it in luxury. Our house is designed for
25X1A6a living, with a lot of outdoor space built in. We have
a large open air patio enclosed with walls of iron grill work.
This patio is round, and forms the main living space in the house.
The house has been dubbed "the bird cage house" by the local
continental community, because of its looks. I have also attached
a picture of it, in case your curiosity has been aroused. Evy
has told many of our friends back home that is
25X1A6a tthot, expensive, buggy and charming". No better words fit the
situation here.
Again, may I ask your assistance in resolving the exceptionally
high cost of living in Anything you can do to push
for a decision will be greatly appreciated.
