In response to your telephone request, the following

comments are presented in regard to the relocation of the 250
KW Fairbanks-Morse (slow speed) Diesel Generator presently
installed at Site
a. Because of the weight and bulk of this installation,
the cost of removing, crating and transporting would be
prohibitive. The engine base alone weighs 57 , 000 1bs .
b. The cost of re-installation, housing, etc., would
more than offset the cost of several high speed generators
of equal capacity.

c. The design work for th*"20 usion of electrical
generating facilities at s bed projected on
retaining this unit . The sign egmplete. A new
switchboard will be built around the eacsting generator
owitchgear (Fairbanks-Morse) as the basic unit.
d. Present policy is based on the installation of
ter units, because of smaller size and easier installa-
tion.
