MEMORANDUM FOR : Acting Chief, Intelligence School
FROM : OTR. Orientation Officer
SUBJECT : Weekly Activities Report #8
13 February to 19 February 1957
REGULAR PROGRAMS
1. CIA Review: This program was held for overseas
returnees on 13 February.
2. CIA Introduction: This program, scheduled for 18 February,
was postponed until 25 February because the carpenters had not finished
their work in the auditorium. They were replacing a number of the tiles
in the false ceiling that had become warped or loose. They encountered
difficulties and thus were not able to complete their work in the allotted
time.
SPECIAL LECTURES 25X1
1. At the specific request of DD/Sec (PPS), a
lecture on "Communist Strategy and Tactics" was presented as part of
the Area Security Officers Course put on by the Office of Security.
2. A lecture on "The Role of CIA" was presented on 15 February
at the Command and Staff School, Maxwell Field, Alabama to 800 field
grade officers enrolled in the full year course. The forty-five
minute presentation, which was followed by a lively forty-five minute
question period, was part of a series of four lectures on Sources of
National Policy. The other three lecturers were from the White House
and the Office of Defense Mobilization.
