it appears that the students have a large measure of basic tradecraft and
CI knowledge. This is .eubject to some interpretation as the officers involved
appear in the sketciies as principally staff experienced but eacii show
"Inv;,"tigative Officer" experience.
25X1A9a P. of CT dropped in and read the biograp?bic sketches
and thought very poorly of the picture based upon the assumption of bio.-,raphic
sketches. We (Jack and I) talked with him to some length. Our final
conclusion was that we would have to go forward as indicated and take the
chance that we muld not bore them all, and that some use might be made of
25X1A9a the material. We note, however that in talking with Lt Col Mann
got him to indicate that they had some inform: tion, but that a review would
not be bad, and further that this should be considered a pilot project for
succeeding groups.

25X1A9a 4. called to ask if we could put two more students into
the ca.a,ss as they have a Saigon assignment. We threw this into the ?bove,
and came to the conclusion that as t e pilot course warrants special atten-
tion we should not increase the student body, and secondly it may be possible
that the other courses may be of lesser qualification, and thus wht should plead
with OSI to put a couple back to increase qualification level in succeeding
25X1A9a courses (discussion potential), and to hold the line at 15. This information

)4. I contacted OTR Security 0, and checkout the
whole security clearance procedure, and r-epared letter request and got
exhibits together.
