The primary objective of this ori- entation is to maintain and improve. CIA - DOD coop- eration by providing selected members of the Armed Forces the opportunity to become more fully and ac- curately acquainted with CIA's mission and capabilities in peace and war. Key CIA officials will discuss the functions of their components, with specific attention to CIA's role in areas of common concern to the Intel- ligence Community. Also, special emphasis will be placed in the course on matters of direct interest to the Armed Forces, such as war and contingency plan- ning, scientific and technical intelligence, and the co- ordination of foreign intelligence collection activities. It is hoped that these briefings will contribute to a better appreciation of how CIA and the military services can provide mutual assistance in the difficult and vital tasks which confront us all. ,/~LLIGF 0 Approved For Release 2001/11/19 : CIA-RDP78-05795A000500010005-6 Approved For R~Ie se 2001/11/1 -CIA -7]8-O5795AQ00500010005-6 PROJECT USEFUL Monday, 23 September 1968 REGISTRATION, WELCOME, and INTRODUCTION TO COURSE 0815 Arrival at Langley 08150900 Registration and Course Administration 0900-0915 Break and Reading 0915-0945 Introduction to the Course, Its Purpose and Scope Course Coordinator Office of Training Chief, Planning Support Group, Missions and Programs Staff Vice Admiral Rufus L.
