Harry:
In the past, we have used these reports of accomplishments and
projected activities primarily for budget preparation, presentation,
and defense. They will continue to be vitally important for these
purposes.
We are "growing up", after a fashion, and to make the authors
of these papers reel better about the many hours spent in their pro-
duction, I would suggest you consider having each Division chief, aid
probably his Branch chiefs sit down with you for a short discussion
of their individual plans. They need to feel a little stronger tie
with you on such things as this. As it is, we usually discuss matters
with them on only a "crash" basis in individual cases, or an wide
generalities at the regular staff meetings.
