DATE: 1 March 1965
1. Dr. Donald F. Chamberlain, AD/OSI, has returned
from the Ballistic Missile Staff Familiarization Course,
Vandenberg AFB. This is the SAC course in which we finally
received a limited quota after three years of requesting.
Dr. Chamberlain has the following to say, "It is my opinion
that this course is not suitable for OSI or other CIA personnel
already possessing a fairly up~to-date knowledge of the
technical characteristics of U. S. space ICBM's. I believe
it is of value only to those needing a very general orientation
course. '"
2. The War Plans Staff wishes to send four or five
employees to disaster recovery .and atomic demolition train-
ing programs. Acting Chief/ WPS, 25X1
explained that they are getting more involved in this type
of activity. In the past, the Office of Research and Reports
has been the user of these types of programs. This is another
example of the ever broadening coverage required by the
Clandestine Services in external training.
