The Spring semester of the off-campus courses conducted by 4eorge Washington University and American Universit for Agency employees began 8 February with a total enrolled in 12 classes. Some students are taking more than one class, making (registrations in all. This enrollment is slightly no classes had to be canceled because of insufficient enrollment. For the two AtJ courses in Eeonoanics, all 2~ students are from DDI and are being sponsored; For GWU classes there a of the students are not being spo re Three-Fourths nsored by the Agency. Thus, the GWU program still retains its character as a program of "self- improvement" and with an encouraging increase in participation from DDP offices. The All-Employee announcement undoubtedly con- tributed to the increase. floe mathematics class is being given The other classes meet in the Headquarters buildin for classrooms, hours of instruction, and meeting dates have been completed. B. The "f)pen Period" for converting insurance coverage had no appreciable effect on personnel of the Registrar Staff. Two em- ployees are covered by insurance policies of husbands employed else- where. All others had earlier elected the "high" option under Agency auspices. E'TB performed its usual role when the announcement first appeared -copies were modified and trainees outside the area were informed of the opportunity to change. ~~ Ff t~Efir~~`i,~~. ` - -~S~iia~t' ~ _ 1 ~ci~de~ ira~ _ ~;itnmatiy nnt. da,?~~n:r.Cia~ and des=.^catTieatlad ... ,..d.o,,.r,..,,.r..sr~r Approved For Release 2009/08/26 :CIA-RDP78-06096A000200020015-2 Approved For Release 2009/08/26 :CIA-RDP78-06096A000200020015-2 Weekly Activities Report loo. ~ (Cont'd) C.
