While debriefing I OS, about 25X1 the Armed Forces Staff College, I was interested to note that the National Security Agency students receive $9. 00 per diem and the Agency for International Development students $2. 50 per diem. Our students receive $6. 00 per diem. He ,expressed the hope that future students could attend with their families. He felt that wives would be a definite asset. This thought has often been expressed by our returnees from the College. Today, ORR, who attended 25X1 the winter 1964 class, called to find out if the students "still had to go TDY. " He plans to nominate one of his employees. Whether the family goes was a determining factor in the nomination. NE, as candidates. the DDP we have 2. called and said that the DDI has no candidates for the National Interdepartmental Seminar beginning 26 July 1965. He will go back and try to find candidates if we wish him to. However, he said their source "has dried up. " In those areas where it vw uld be appli ble to participate; there are no more qualified candidates/From 3. Today, confirmed with Lt. Col. Wallace Griffith, AFPTRE, that the Agency wishes an allocation of three spaces for the 1966-67 Air War College class. Listed below are our present fall requirements for the Foreign Service Institute language schools: Headquarters Overseas Office Language Those names listed with an asterisk could have been trained by LTS. has stated their capability and availability for those requirements. This will cost us approximately $14, 650. A comparison of last fall's FSI local requirements shows a considerable reduction. This will naturally be reflected in the winter continuations at their overseas schools. The list includes those languages which we have traditionally used at the FSI. It is always difficult to say farewell to good employees. This employee performed far above the average in quality and quantity of her work.
