SIGNIli'ICANT ~,,,,TEMS DATE: 13 April 1965 None to report. B. OTHER ACTIVITIES 1. We have received from DC/SR Support a memorandum requesting special proficiency testing of five more SR employees. This memo- randum contains the following reaction to our 12 February report on the first group undergoing special-testing from that Division: "Chief, SR is pleased with this inforn~a,tion and has asked me to advise you of his feelings on this matter and to express our sincere appreciation f or aZl the effort and care you took in preparing and giving these tests. Chief, SR has requested that other SR Division employees be tested and evaluated under this new system." 25X1A 2. Work on ~ pro3ect on recent political, social terminology in Eastern European languages (Russian, Polish, Czech, Romanian, Hungarian} is advancing very ss,tisfactorily. He has compiled a preliminary list of approximately 1,000 terms in English and Russian and is now recording the Polish, and Czech equivalents. To our knowledge no up to-date multi_lingual glossary of this type is in existence. 25X1A 25X1A 3. - recently finished writing and recording a 30--unit Intermediate Spanish course. Two students have completed the new course dust last week with the superior results we have come to expect from - programs. 4. R/TR, visited LTS on Thursday, S April, and renewed acquaintance with the staff.
