Approved For Releawe'2002/ / 9&EqJ096A0004 100007-0 30 July 1965 l~~t,/ 1~OIY )40 Approved For Release 2002/0 MEMORANDUM FOR: Deputy Director for Support SUBJECT : Revision of the Career Trainee Program 1. This memorandum is for information only. 2. The Clandestine Services Training Advisory Board held its fourth meeting on 29 July 1965. The primary subject of consideration on the agenda was OTR's proposal for revisions of the Career Trainee Program along the following lines. Beginning with the October 1965 class, all CT classes will be approximately equal in size (50-55). No change is contemplated in the nature or duration of the training. The class as a whole will continue to take nine weeks at Headquarters, and then all CTs will take the Operations Familiarization Course at They will thus have had a basic course of 15 weeks dura- tion, nine weeks at Headquarters and six at 3. Following the 15 weeks, the class will be split according to the Directorate of eventual assignment. Those going to the DDP will take a modified Operations Course of 12-13 weeks. Those going into' the DDS will take the DDS Course, and those going into the DDI will take the Intelligence Production Course. 4. This will give the CT Staff a longer period of observation and a greater opportunity for judgement as to the direction the trainees should take. They will see the trainees in a greater variety of train- ing experiences and this will give the trainee time to become more familiar with the Agency as a whole. 5. The Training Advisory Board concurred in these revisions and will recommend approval to the DDP. MATTHEW Director of Training Aft ~''1~~07-0
