Approved For Release 20W07/30: CIA-RDP78-o -7 7 June 1965 MEMORANDUM FOR: Director of Training SUBJECT: Weekly Report #12: The Defense Intelligence School (DIS) 1 June - 4 June 1965 1. The pilot class of the Advanced Intelligence Course was graduated on Friday. Until the individual critiques and recommendations from student work-groups have been evaluated and acted upon, one cannot anticipate too much about the direction of change in the course. I've picked up enough to date to know (1) that the course will still be offered two times in the next fiscal year; (2) that six representatives from non-DOD agencies will be sought for each class, of which two, possibly three, slots are expected to be filled by CIA students; and (3) that the course as revised probably will be in the 12-15 weeks' range. 25X1A 2. appeared on Thursday morning for a three-hour presentation on Observation and Sketching to the Attache class. Flexi- bility was the keynote, to permit viewing of the Gemini take-off. 3. The OCR offer of aid in improving the DIS classified library system reached the practical stage when spent a half-day reviewing the set-up. Next week the new librarian will visit Dee and be introduced to the Agency library system. Arrangements are also being made by Dee to have the two enlisted men on library duty see the CIA vJ ~'. r -D!A C TP 4. We have been told that the civilian Analyst Course, yet to run with its first class of 25-30 recent college graduates, will be here- after expanded to include some civilians already on duty with DIA. Plans call for two classes of 50 students per year, with the increase in capacity effective with the January 1966 class. 5. On Wednesday and Thursday, I will be in Baltimore visiting industrial sites with members of the Attache class and faculty. I'll return in time to watch my daughter be presented with a $2,500 check. (This is the amount of the International Soroptomist Award, mentioned to DTR by Ben, won by Ellen for citizenship and service to community.) NO C ANG ;N CLASS, C_1 ASSIHEQ I DECL .
