REFERENCE : Your memorandum, dated 6 July 1970, subject
as above
1. As requested, the suggested schedule for completion
of Office of Medical Services histories as outlined in referent
memorandum has been discussed with the Support Services Histori-
cal officer. it has also of course been reviewed with OMS
officials responsible for the several parts of our history.
As a result of these discussions, the following alternative
schedule is proposed:

2. This schedule is consistent with the referent suggested
schedule for two of the six histories projected. The other four
will in our judgment require longer time for preparation for
reasons we have previously outlined. We have no annuitants
to work on our histories and much of the preparation necessarily
depends on the efforts of a few senior OMS officials. Never-
theless, we are moving on this and shall intensify our efforts
in this area.
