He spent most of the day reviewing the description-of-persons program with The program has reached the stage for try-out. But before a try-out can be arranged, photographs and care- ful line drawings must be substituted for the many temporary sketches that have been used so far. In some cases, suitable photographs have still not been obtained, although. It is hoped they are on the way. Chief PPS talked with for an hour or so that afternoon. II PROGRAMMING ACTIVITY 25X1A9a reported to the Education Committee on Information about programmed learning and teaching machines which he had learned while attending the annual American ,Psychological Association convention earlier this month. He also prepared a list of commercially available self-teaching texts for insertion in the next OTR Bulletin. III A NEW NATIONAL TRAINING LABORATORIES COURSE 25X1A9a In the wake of his having attended a human relations training laboratory in Bethel, Maine, in the summer of 1959, received an announcement this week of a new course to be offered to "persons with responsibilities in the management of training and personnel development programs." The unique feature of this course is that it will provide consultative services, during a period of at least a year, to help each trainee apply to his job the insights which he gains during 20 days of more formal training. Thomas Bennett, A i ssoc ate Professor, George Washington University, who is NTL's Washington representative for the course. Mr. Bennett says that there Is evidence to show that following-up an. Intensive period of training with consultative service can be very effective.
