Intelligence Or-ientation The past week has been devoted to final preparations and the launching of intelligence Orientation #48, which began on 3 November with an enrollment of 56 students, our largest enrollment since March. The average enrollment in this program for the past eight courses has been 46 students, with a range from 15 to 61. 2. Ebits a. The various DD/I offices have completed inspection and updating of their presentations for the Intelligence Products exhibit scheduled J~d nut suggested i d out suggested 3? for 8 November. Mr. and his staff have cart changes under severe pressures of time. b. In addition to Gen. Carroll and his staff from DIA, about 35 USIB visitors from Navy,. State, and NSA are expected to attend. Industrial College Lectures 25X1A9a Mr.~ attended two lectures at the Industrial College of the Armed Forces last week. Dr. Carleton Coon of the University of Pennsylvania spoke on the anthropological and cultural backgrounds of underdeveloped areas and Dr. F.S.G. Northrop of Yale spoke on ethnic and cultural factors relating to the development of the United States. Of the two, Dr. Northrop's presentation was far superior and a presentation of this type would be most appropriate in the Mid-Career Program. 4. Communications Refresher Course The Office of Communications has made a firm request for the resumption of the Signal Center Refresher Course next spring. A decision as to dates will be made by mutual agreement after the first of the year. The latter part of April or early May appears to be the most likely time. Interview for Staff Vacancy Mr. NE, DD/P, has been interviewed for one of the unf ed sots in I.O.F.
