---= Reports from the morning meetings of the DD/M&S:
Director of Personnel stated that 900-1000 expected
to leave.
Doctor Tietjen reported that in recent weeks there has
has been a noticeable increase in the number of medical
evacuations from overseas.
The federal government is looking into withholding
city taxes.
Mr. Brownrnan plans to organize a MPG in the IvI?S Directorate;
thinks there should be one in each Directorate.
+Mr. Colby is continuing his meetings with groups of
employees from the various components; had one with a
Como group during the week.
Radar in effect at the CIA Headquarters building; 18
warnings given; 4 speeding tickets.
Second smoking clinic under way, with success. The first
clinic brought some positive results; other clinics may
be held at Headquarters.
The MAG complimented the DCI onestablishing_the practice
of bulletin bds. for classified info.
There will be no DCI's conference this year.
DD/MTS was away Monday and Tuesday attending a Management--
by-Objectives course.

---- Commented on the success of the Suggestion Awards System and
was asked to give a 12-minute presentation on SAS at the
next meeting.

---- The move of the Information Science Center going along OK; still
waiting for an answer from DIA's Comptroller.
---- Is preparing a paper on a program for presentations in the
Auditorium: asked for input--if anyone wishes to offer any.
Requested that word be passed t:iat people who use the Senior
Seminar Room will be responsible for leaving it in presentable
condition.
---- The total-immersion course in Russian, to begin 22 October;
our wee
s, at will have 12 students and four fa
members---the faculty is from SB and will be at LS at least
two weeks before the course begins to prepare for the instruction.
---- Attended the training conference at FAES; noted his meeting with
and DB's interest in talking with someone about
external training programs. (Here DTR noted that there will be
some general briefings of people from FSI, DIA, and NSA; with
some reciprocity); encouraged the staff to keep in contact with
their opposite members in other Agencies. -
CT class will have about 20 externals.
---- Discussed the Coordinators Conference at FAES and noted that
what was covered bore no relationship to the objective of the
program; has some doubts that the Conference will continue.
Noted that in response to a question from the audience about
State Department moving in to take over CIA's activity, Mr. Colby
commented that we would "fight" that one.
