? fno custom made jobs are envisioned). U the si,* and Amp* of the

would suffice. in each classroom, the oombinetion of Walk, Hook

desired length for chalkboard.) If necessary, iblidino panels with
cks should be installed for Hook Lir Loop and chest boards. When
not in use these should be stored in some sort of reoessed area - not a_ssposed to view.
U not feasible, side wall installation should be included. (thermostats arid other
items which would preclude this should be cUsabated in the early planning stages.)
Include sliding combination hooks and souses, clamps oct the top frame of the
chalkboards to hold darts.
4. MAPS (MOUNTED) AND HU4GW flOLDIPS- To eosaiamodate maps, etc.,
heavy backing, we should investigate the possibility of installing move -

to swing out to hold the maps and swung hack out of the way when not

5. PODII in any classroom where we would have 2( or mare thadlinta we
should plan for a on* or two step podium as ekpropriote to the else of the roma .
This should be wide enough to accommodate an instructor, table or desx, chair,
lectern, easel, end ether normal equipment, without oteroding and without the
danger MI someone inadvertently stepping off. Podia should be CARP4TED *to no
hollow sounds will be emitted by walking thereon.
6. PROJECTION SCREEN Most of the rooms must have
jection SOMA CelasiaZant with the room size. In the salter rooms a tri style
crews will be appropriate. In the larger rooms, a permanently mounted screen
should be planned. This screen should be mounted &seed 16 inches out frees the
front wall, and so positioned that it will not interfere with the lectern or be so far
out hwas the well that the instructor may not cceventantly point to the projectee
image. The aCtaten should be se minted, real seed, that it will not be a distraction
in the front of the room and, when lowered for use with an overhead projector, it
can be slanted to eliminate the 'keystone" effect. In all cases (electric or n0a-
olectric) it should be instructor controlled.
7. OUTLETS (ELECTRICAL AND TELEPHONE) -There should be ample electrical
outlets at front, sides, and back of each classroom to aecommodate the various
types of projectors used. Lighting should be controlled so romp may be
either dimmed or *blacited-out" by the instructor with one or two switches rather
than having a series at switches to turn all lights on or off. in the Urger rooms,
two or more spotlights aimed at the front area would provide more effective illumine thin.
Electrical outlets for closks should be provided mid-way on a side wall. /1411rtag.
