MEMORANDUM FOR: Executive Director
Attached is a proposed action memorandum
which sets forth some suggestions for improving the selection
of nominees to attend the senior officer schools. I have repeated
parts of your memorandum of 12 August 1964 because at that time
the Deputy Directors had already completed their senior officer
school selections for the year. This repetition will serve to
refresh their memory on the guidelines they should follow in
nominating their candidates to the Training Selection Board this
year. I have also included some thoughts that might be useful
in clarifying the responsibilities of the Deputy Directors' repre-
sentatives who are serving as members of the Training Selection
Board.
