PROJECT a) Construction of a Power House building 61' long 25'8" wide and 13' 8" high ( all outside dimensions). This building will be connected with the present Power House as indicated on the drawing # 102.2 (attached). STATINTL b) Modification of the existing Power House. 2. IA ACS TION 3. GENERLL These specifications supplement the general conditions and shall form a part of the contract and all subcontracts. ~. IUUUTION OF THE SITE The Contractor shall visit the site of the work and thoroughly familiarize himself with all existing conditions before submitting his bid. No increase in cost or extension in performance time will be considered for failure to know the site conditions. 5. STORAGE OF MATERIAL The 'supervisor of the construction will assign to the Contractor allowable areas for the storage of material and use by the workmen, and the Contractor shall keep his material and equipment strictly within the limits assigned to him. Material shall be stored so as to cause no obstructions. The Contractor shall keep the responsibility for protecting his material and equipment. 6. LIGHT WATER, POWER The Contractor may use water and power from the existing buildings. Any temporary lighting, power, and water service required for eonstructio$ purposes, shall be removed by the contractor at the completion of the work. 7. SANITART FAC LIB The Contractor shall keep the toilet room, which shall be assigned to him to be used by his workmen, clean and in sanitary condition. 8. The surface shall be graded accurately according to the drawings so that the dimension will not be less than specified. Before placing concrete, the reinforcement shall be checked by supervisor and all embedded items shall be located.. Forme shall be wetted and oiled prior to placing of concrete. COUJMNS A1N_BEAMd The building will be supported by 14 reinforcing columns size 30 cm x 30 cm. ( footing 1 m x 1 m). Al], columns will be connected with reinforcing beam size 30 cm x 60 cm (drawing No. 102-4) U Concrete strip 20 cm. thick by 30 cm wide shall be placed as support foundation of the main walls. FOMS 5? Forms shall be Of such design and construction as to be able to carry safely the weight of the concrete, to resist the stresses of placing and vibrating without any leakage or deformation. They should be true to line and level and shall conform exactly to dimensions of the drawings. Forms shall be removed only with the approval of the supervisor. III. CONCF , r CKS a) Concrete blocks shall be used for the construction of the exteriors walls and inside partition walls, standard size 38 cm x 18 cm x 18 cm. IV. RT Mortar for concrete block walls shall be composed of one part cement, one part hydrated lime and 2.5 parts of clean sand, all proportions by volume. First layer of mortar for plaster work shall be cement mortar composed of one part of cement and three parts of rough sand. V. FIDO a) Gravel 5 cm thick shall be used for the floor sub-base. Plain concrete 4" thick shill bused for the floor with terrazo top. Floor shall be lo *d and smooth. b) New floor and existing floor shall be at the same level. Ti. Before application of the water proofing material, all holes, points and cracks shall be filled flush with cement mortar and high spots shall be ground smooth. l Five openings 8" diameter for the exhaust of the generators shall be provided as per the instruction of the supervisor of the construction. VII. WATERPROOFING Water proofing shall be asphalt, two coats of which shall be given to the roof slab. Surfaces to receive waterproofing shall be clean and dry before waterproofing is applied. The surfaces to be covered shall be carefully swept to remove all foreign matter and will be inspected by the supervisor. A layer of sand shall be spread on the top of the asphalt coat. VIII. FLOOR TRENCHER Floor trenches 12" wide 12" deep as are indicated on the drawing ( No. 102-3) shall be constructed with finish cement coat. Trenches will be covered with steel plates 1/8" thick. Metal lip on edge of trench. IX. PLASTERING a) All the walls inside and outside will be plastered to match in appearance with the existing Power House. b) Walls will be plastered and finished with marble dust. I. GEYSR&TOR BASES Five concrete bases shall be constructed size 10" long 4' wide and 1' 8" depth. Top of base will be flush with the floor level, 1/2" opening around the base which will be filled with tar or cork. Mounting bolts will be installed as per the instructions of the supervisor of the construction. Location of the bases as indicated at drawing No.(102-2) XI. QPENI i( Five openings 6' x 8' shall be placed on the long right side of the building. ThLw openings will be covered with decorative blocks as indicated on the drawing No. (102-1). III. LOUVRES Steel louvres shall be placed in as indicated in the approved drawings No. (102-3). ./. STEEL DOORS Two steel doors rolling typo with vertical and horizontal steel frame commercial grades by 120 mm covered both sides with sheet metal 2 mm thickness. Size of doors 9' x 8' 3"" z 1" Door shall accurately fit respective frames and shall roll freely without springing or binding. Bound installation will be provided. uv. ' A CO$GMTE PAOTSCTI011 OF THE WALLS Gutters will be installed to protect the building from raining water and concrete strip 10 cm thick 30 cm wide shall be placed aroung the building to protect the outside walls of the building. All the existing generator bases shall be broken off and the floor level shall be smooth and level with the now floor. ZVIII. PAINTING It STATINTL No painting will be done by the Contractor. IVII. ? The presence oL absence of the Supervising officer from the project in no way releases the Contractor from any of his obligations. 3) Time of Comol cti on of the York The Contractor undertakes the responsibility to complete the work within 100 calendar days from the effective date of this project (agreement). 4). Penalty In the event all above stated work is not completed within the agreed period of time stated above and the delay is the responsibility of the contractor, then the contractor is subject to a penalty of per day for each day of delay after the termination e o c agreement.
