NPIC/R-205/63 PROBABLE GAS AND OIL PRODUCTION DELYATIN/NADVORNAYA AREA, USSR This report describes a probable gas and oil production site 8 nautical miles (nm) northwest of Delyatin and 5 nm southwest of Nadvornaya, USSR, at 48-36N 24-29E (Figure 1). This area was first observed on KEYHOLE and the activity at that time was described as a possible uranium mining and ore concentration operation. The town of Nadvornaya is located on the Stanislav/Chernovtsy main rail line. A POL area containing 15 semiburied vertical tanks measuring approximately 25 to 30 feet in diameter is located adjacent to a railroad yard on the eastern edge of the town. The area under study is divided topo- graphically into three separate areas designated N PIC H-4193 (8/63) FIGURE 1 LOCATION OF DELYATIN/NADVORNAYA AREA, USSR. A, B, and C (Figure 2). Area A is located south of the Nadvorn- yanskaya River. This area contains approx- imately nine headgear installations, all of which are interconnected by road. Two of the instal- lations are situated on the tops of ridges. The sides of the mountains in this area are Area B is north of the Nadvornyanskaya River. It contains approximately ten head- gear installations, all of which are located on the tops of mountain ridges and are inter- connected by road. This area contains approximately seven headgear installations, five of which are located on the tops of mountain ridges and all of which are interconnected by road. Extensive farming is also being conducted on the sides of the moun- tains in this area. of undetermined height, measure approximately 40 feet square and appear to be oil pumping stations.
