This report is a partial answer to DIA
requirement DIA-API-63-88, to verify or pin-
point the location of Soviet military garrisons
in Poland and to perform a photo analysis to
determine boundaries of the installations, to
determine function, number and dimensions of
buildings, to estimate troop capacity, and to
identify and describe related training areas

This report covers four installations in the
Wroclaw area, only one of which (Wroclaw
Military Barracks No 3) was reported in PIR
32-59 1/. The installations described below
are shown in Figures 1, 2, and 3. The total
estimated troop capacity for the selected
barracks areas near Wroclaw is 8,056*

space per man.
The latest available photographic coverage
reveals no apparent change in facilities since 25X
The installation is water served by a
boat basin which leads to the Oder River. It
is located 4 miles northwest of Wroclaw, covers
approximately 144 acres, and contains:
5 multistory barracks 225 by 60 feet, a
total of 135,000 square feet of floor
space, based on a minimum of twos tories
6 probably one-story storage buildings
ranging from 140 by 30 to 60 by 30 feet,
a total of 18, 000 square feet of floor space
6 probably one-story storage buildings
ranging from 440 by 95 to 55 by 25 feet,
a total of 99, 975 square feet of floor space
1 vehicle shed 1,155 by 55 feet, a total of
63,525 square feet
1 driver training course, and
1 athletic field
a training area in the northern section of
the installation contains numerous earth
scars.

no apparent change in facilities from the C
coverage. This secured, rail-served military
barracks area located 4.6 miles southwest of
Wroclaw covers approximately 43 acres and
contains:
6 irregularly L-shaped one-story bar-
racks with sections 140 by 55, 165 by
40, and 110 by 65 feet
1 L-shaped one-story barracks with a
base 330 by 35 and a wing 85 by 50
feet, a total for the 7 barracks of 144,500
square feet of floor space
2 partly one-story and partly two-story
administration buildings with a total of
54,650 square feet of floor space
11 miscellaneous and support buildings
ranging from 130 by 130 to 50 by 15
feet, a total of 67,375 square feet of
floor space, and
4 rows of unidentified equipment onprob-
able hardstands
no ammunition, POL storage, training
areas, or facilities observed.
