This report is a partial answer to DIA
requirement DIAXX 63-84, to verify the lo-
cation of selected military installations in Ilun-
gary and to perform a photo analysis of these
installations to determine function, number and
dimensions of buildings, to estimate troop capac-
ity, to identify and describe related training
areas and facilities, and to confirm or negate
25X1 D ammunition and POL storage. This report
covers selected military installations in the
25X1 D Veszprem area.
TALENT photography ofM~ was used
to determine dimensions and functions of build-
ings. KEYHOLE photography of -
and was used to confirm this
information. KEYHOLE photography revealed
no expansion or build-up in these installations

The estimated troop capacity of the three
barracks areas near Veszprem is 15,476, based
on a total floor space of 773,825 square feet.*
The installations described below are keyed
to Figure 1.
A. Veszprem Army Barracks No 1 and 2
Coordinates: 47-06-55N 017-55-05E

This military installation located 1.5 miles
north of Veszprem covers 97 acres and contains:
1 four-story, T-shaped barracks building,
one section 330 by 70 feet, and one sec-
tion 145 by 70 feet
7 two-story barracks buildings, one 295 by
50 feet, three 230 by 70 feet, one 180
by 55 feet, and two 180 by 50 feet
*Troop capacity is computed on a basis of 50 square feet
of space per man.
I four-story, I-shaped barracks building,
two sections each 180 by 70 feet, and one
section 165 by 70 feet
6 one-story barracks buildings, one 180 by
50 feet, one 180 by 35 feet, one 165 by
50 feet, two 165 by 35 feet, and one 115
by 35 feet
1 two-story barracks building 165 by 50
feet, a total for the 16 barracks build-
ings of 517,525 square feet off loor space
6 multistory administration buildings
ranging from 245 by 80 to 80 by 50
feet, a total of 178,475 square feet based
upon a minimum of two stories for each
building.
5 storage buildings ranging from 280 by 50
to 90 by 80 feet, a total of 80,750 square
feet
1 vehicle shed 290 by 30 feet
20 miscellaneous support buildings ranging
from 210 by 35 to 15 by 15 feet
no observed ammunition or POL storage.
An associated secured ammunition stor-
age area 700 by 500 feet located 3,200 feet
east of the installation contains five unrevetted
probable ammunition storage buildings rang-
ing from 80 by 50 to 70 by 35 feet, a total of
16,050 square feet.
An associated small arms firing range
890 by 135 feet is located 5,500 feet east of
the installation.

1 L-shaped storage building, one section
90 by 35 feet, and one section 60 by 35
feet, a total of 5,250 square feet
4 miscellaneous support buildings ranging
from 235 by 25 to 50 by 25 feet
no observed ammunition or POL storage.
C. Veszprem Airfield Barracks Area

east of Veszprem covers 107 acres and contains:
4 two-story barracks buildings, 215 by 40,
120 by 55, 105 by 40, and 95 by 40 feet
5 two-story barracks buildings, each 190
by 40 feet
3 three-story barracks buildings, one 175
by 55 feet and two 150 by 40 feet
6 two-story barracks buildings, each 80
by 40 feet
4 one-story barracks buildings, each 70 by
25 feet, a total for the 22 barracks build-
ings of 232,675 square feet of floor space
1 one-story, T-shaped administration
building, one section 200 by 40 feet, and
one section 55 by 40 feet
1 I-shaped administration building, 2 one-
story sections 120 by 40 feet, and 1
two-story section 80 by 55 feet, a total
for the two buildings of 28,600 square
feet
5 storage buildings ranging from 280 by 55
to 70 by 25 feet, a total of 36,650 square
feet
8 unrevetted possible ammunition storage
bunkers, each 25 by 15 feet, a total of
3,000 square feet
5 vehicle sheds ranging from 135 by 40 to
95 by 20 feet
21 miscellaneous support buildings ranging
from 200 by 95 to 20 by 20 feet
no observed POL storage.

This area is reported as an ammunition
storage facility. However, no characteristics
of ammunition storage areas are observed. This
is probably farm-produce storage.
