This report covers selected military installations in the Kecskemet area. The installations are keyed to Figure 1. 25X1 D 25X1 D TALENT photography of-was used to determine dimensions and functions of build- ings. KEYHOLE photography o was used only to confirm the existence of the military installations and major buildings -- poor photo quality precluded a detailed analysis. The total troop capacity of the installations in Kecskemet covered by this report is 19,248 based on a total of 962,475 square feet of floor space.* A. Kecskemet Ammunition Dump Kadafalva Coordinates: 46-53-08N 019-36-55E BE No: Troop capacity: not applicable This double-secured munitions and am- munition storage area, located 4.2 miles west- southwest of Kecskemet, covers approximately 21 acres and contains: 9 storage buildings ranging from 65 by 45 to 15 by 15 feet, a total of 17,925 square feet 5 revetted storage buildings ranging from *Troop capacity is computed on a basis of 50 square feet of space per man. 20 by 20 to 15 by 15 feet, a total of 1,350 square feet 1 support building 35 by 35 feet. Kecskemet Army Barracks West BE No: Troop capacity: 2,262 This walled military installation covers approximately 29 acres and contains: 3 three-story barracks buildings, each 175 by 45 feet 4 two-story barracks buildings, 160 by 55, 105 by 45, 85 by 55, and 65 by 45 feet, a total of 113,125 square feet of floor space I E-shaped four-story administration building, the main section 95 by 50 feet, with two wings 70 by 35 feet, and one wing 45 by 25 feet, a total of 43,100 square feet 3 storage buildings ranging from 205 by 25 to 160 by 65 feet, a total of 20,575 square feet 5 vehicle sheds, each 300 by 40 feet 16 support buildings ranging from 240 by 90 to 30 by 20 feet I firing butt 330 by 45 feet 1 water tower no observed ammunition or POL storage. G-1. Training Area A training area covering approximately 195 acres extends east, north, and west of the in- stallation. The training area contains trenches, foxholes, bunkers and aircraft mockups. In- cluded in the training area (west of the instal- lation) is a possible electronics facility with several types of antennas, three support buildings ranging from 100 by 55 to 70 by 30 feet, and several reservoirs, possibly for cool- ing large transmitters.
