This report is a partial answer to DIA re-
quirement DIAXX 63-84, to verify the location
of selected military installations in Hungary,
and to perform a photo analysis of these instal-
lations to determine function, number and di-
mensions of buildings, to estimate troop capac-
ity, to identify and describe related training
areas and facilities and to confirm or negate
ammunition and POL storage. This report
covers two military installations in the Aszod
area.
The estimated troop capacity for these two
installations is 4,292, based on a total of 214,600
square feet of floor space.*
Good quality KEYHOLE photography of
was used for the analysis of the
two installations in this report. These installa-
tions are shown in Figure 1.

This secured barracks area covers approxi-
mately 24 acres and contains:
4 two-story barracks buildings, two 165 by
55, one 145 by 45, and one 135 by 60 feet,
a total of 65,550 square feet
*Troop capacity is computed on a basis of 50 square feet
of space per man.
2 administration buildings, one 195 by 60
feet, and the other 105 by 60 feet, a total
of 18,000 square feet
2 storage buildings, each 45 by 45 feet, a
total of 4,050 square feet
7 support buildings ranging from 100 by 45
to 30 by 20 feet
no observed ammunition or POL storage.

This secured barracks area covers approxi-
mately 142 acres and contains:
3 three-story barracks buildings, each 195
by 60 feet, and
1 five-story barracks building 175 by 50
feet, a total for the four barracks build-
ings of 149,050 square feet
1 administration building 295 by 50 feet,
a total of 14,750 square feet
8 storage buildings ranging from 80 by 35
feet to 60 by 30 feet, a total of 20,200
square feet
4 probable ammunition storage bunkers
approximately 40 by 20 feet, a total of
3,200 square feet
1 firing range 1,040 by 205 feet
no observed POL storage.
