is located on the southeast shore of Litsa
Bay 31 nautical miles (nm) north-northwest of
Murmansk at 69-27N 32-24C (Figure 1). The
base includes landing facilities, two operations/
Piers. The landing facilities consist of ten
finger piers, two L-head piers and a modified
offshore wharf. Piers I, II, III, IV, VII, VIII, IX,
X, XI, and XII are finger piers measuring 490
by 20 feet, 450 by 20 feet, 450 by 20 feet, 155
support areas and an administrative area (Fig-

feet long.

consists of one 200- by 35-foot storage build-
ing, eight support buildings with 36,650 square
feet of floor space and ten miscellaneous
buildings.
Operations /Support Area B. This area
includes five storage buildings with 43,950
square feet of floor space, eight support buildings
with 45,400 square feet and five miscellaneous
buildings.
Administrative Area. This area contains
one multistory 240- by 65-foot administra-
tive building, two 220- by 55-foot multistory
barracks, five storage buildings with 44,150
square feet of floor space, three support
buildings with 20,000 square feet and three
miscellaneous buildings.
LITSA BAY PROBABLE NAVAL MISSILE STORAGE FACILITY
The Litsa Bav Probable Naval Missile Stor-
age Facility is located 1.5
nm south of the submarine base (I igure 3).
The facility was in the early stages of con-
struction when first observed inl
The more important facilities appeared essen-
buildings were added between
Storage Area. This area, possibly fenced,
includes four parallel drive-in buildings, 200
feet long, possibly earth banked within a fenced
yard, a 210- by 60-foot drive-in building within
a fenced yard with a wye off the entrance road,
an unidentified 120- by 80-foot structure con-
structed on an apron cut into a knoll, three
200- by 30-foot drive-in buildings off a loop
road, and eleven other buildings.
Barracks/Administrative Area. Anadmin-
istrative and barracks area, located along the
road between the port and the naval facility,
contains 20 large two story barracks and admin-
istrative buildings with approximately 400,000
square feet of floor space. The buildings are
arranged in three groups. Approximately 30
storage and service buildings with 150,000
square feet are also located in the area.
There are possible foundations for three
additional barracks-type buildings in the area.
