It is situated in a heavily wooded area 5.6 nautical miles (nm) east of the complex support facility, on the south side of the complex main road (Figure 1). Although construction activity was observed at the site support facility as early as there was no evidence of the launch site until , when it was detected in a midstage of construction. The site was considered complete by A single security fence, encompassing an area approximately 2,180 by 1,700 feet, encloses the launch site. Thirteen buildings are located within the site. An earth-banked missile-ready building, canted outward about 30 degrees, is 650 feet behind the left pad. Two earth- mounded canted buildings are. inboard of each pad, and three earth-mounded buildings are in line down the center of the site. One building is adjacent to the western side of the missile-ready build- ing. An erector/shelter is on each pad. The 25X9 The site support facility is divided into an administration and housing section and a housing section. The administration and housing sec- tion is 3,200 feet northeast of the launch site. It contains seven buildings, five of which are T shaped. The housing section is 2,100 feet northeast of the launch site. It contains 22 buildings, including 7 barracks-type and 15 other buildings of various sizes. Twelve buildings are scattered around the perimeter of the site support facility, including the two small buildings across the complex main road, 3,000 feet north of the housing section. Just west of the housing section is a clear- ing, 500 by 400 feet, which is probably an ath- letic/drill field. A probable substation con- taining one building, and a power trace paral- leling the complex main road, are 3,900 feet north of the launch site.
