The series is being coordinated, published and disseminated by NPIC. The photographic analysis is being performed by the NPIC Photographic Analysis Group, the CIA Photographic ]ntelligence Division (NPIC), and the Production Center 1Plc (DIA). The photographic analysis for this particular re- port was performed by the CIA Photographic Intelligence Division. In the interest of uniformity, the titles and letter designators for the facilities observed at these installations are identical with those appearing in the project requirement. When a specific facility is not observed both its title and letter designator are omitted in the report. The installation is adjacent to the Chita Northwest Airfield (52-04N 113-25E). It is served by a spur of the Trans-Siberian rail- road and by a probably hard-surface, all-weather road. There are no apparent training areas or ranges associated with this installation. It ap- pears to be a support/storage area associated with Chita Northwest Airfield. The installation (i'igures 2 and 3) contains a total of 152 buildings, of which there are five 25X1 D 25X1 D administrative, three administrative/barracks, 24 barracks, 34 officer/dependent quarters, 35 general storage, 43 support, and eight equipment storage/maintenance buildings. This installa- tion has been referenced previously as two separate elements: Chita Supply Depot Kenon No 1 PUG, and Chita Air Force Depot No 2. Coverage in indicates that the installation is occupied with the exception of 25X1 D the addition of a probable off-loading shed ou the rail line within the installation after 25X1 D 25X1 D Railroad Service A single spur passing through the storage areas serves the entire installation. A siding from the spur also serves the storage area. Road Service A probably hard-surface, all-weather road connects the installation with primary roads from Chita. Secondary roads connect tl~e sur- rounding area to the installation. Aircraft Landing Strips This installation is served by the Chita Northwest Airfield, which is northwest of the installation. Administrative and Troop Housing Areas Area D1 is secured and contains three ad- ministrative buildings, 14 barracks, 34 officer/ dependent quarters, and 16 support buildings. There is a large open storage/possible vehicle parking space in the northwest corner of the area and a possible drill field near the main road. Area D2 is secured and contains one ad- ministrative building, 10 barracks, and eight support buildings. This is probably abarracks/ support area for Chita Northwest Airfield. General Storage Areas Area E1 is probably walled and contains 23 general storage buildings, six support build- ings, and three administrative/barracks build- ings. A rail. spur from the main line passes through this area. A sidingfrom this spur leads to other storage buildings. The area is also road served. Area E2 is rail- and road-served and has extensive open storage space. It has 11 general storage and seven support buildings and one probable storage shed.
