The installa- tion is not rail served, but all-weather roads afford access to the Sverdlovsk-Tyumen rail line. Kamyshlov Camp West, a large training area containing five tank ranges (each with movable, known distance target runs), aprobable artillery range, and three small-arms ranges (of which only one appears to receive consid- erable usage), adjoins the installation on the north and east. The installation (Figures 2, 3, 4, and 5) encompasses approximately 345 acres and in- cludes a total of 320 buildings, of which there are 20 administrative, 79 barracks, 15 general The installation is connected by an all- weather, probably hard-surfaced road with pri- mary roads serving Sverdlovsk, Tyumen, and Kamens Uralskiy. The same road also connects the installation with the Sverdlovsk-Tyumen rail line. Administrative and Troop Housing Areas Area D1 (Figure 3) contains three admin- istrative, 10 barracks, and 22 support build- ings. There is a large possible vehicle hard- stand located adjacent to a T-shaped admin- istrative building. Area D2 contains 14 barracks, one admin- istration/barracks, and one support building. Area D3 contains four barracks. One large and three small aprons are located in front of these buildings. TCS-7610/64 NPIC/R-748/64 storage, 192 general support, and 14 vehicle/ equipment maintenance and storage buildings. The installation appears to be divided into four separate functional areas plus a general administrative area. Associated tracks and target ranges indicate that two barracks areas are probable mechanized units; another area is associated with a probable artillery range. Late winter coverage in indicates that the installation is occupied and winter training is in evidence. Recent summer photography in indicates extensive training activities. The installation has undergone no apparent change since its initial coverage in- 25X1 D Area D4 contains 13 barracks, six support, and one administrative building. The area appears to be associated with tank training activities. Area D5 contains three administrative and 21 support buildings. This is possibly an admin- istrative support area for the main admin- istrative facilities. Area D6 contains 13 barracks, three sup- port, and one administrative building. The area appears to be associated with tank training activities. Area D7 contains eight administrative and 15 support buildings. This appears to be the major administrative area of the installation. Area D8 contains four barracks. Area D9 contains five barracks, two sup- port, and one administrative building. Area D10 contains four barracks and four support buildings. The area's proximity to rifle ranges indicates a probable association with infantry. Area DIl contains five barracks, four sup- port, and one administrative building. The prox- imity to rifle ranges indicates a probable association with infantry. Area D12 contains nine barracks and one support building. General Storage Area Area E contains 15 general storage build- ings. Other Buildings Area Hl contains five support buildings. Area H2 contains 50 support buildings and possibly one small wheeled-vehicle park. This area comprises most of the southern part of the installation. Scattered at random throughout the instal- lation are an additional 53 support buildings. Equipment Storage/Maintenance Areas Area J1 is a possible artillery park and contains two 315- by 45-foot vehicle main- tenance/storage buildings, two 225- by 30-foot vehicle maintenance/storage buildings, and three support buildings. Area J2 contains six 180- by 30-foot ve- hicle sheds, five support buildings, and one administrative building. L1 is 300 by 75 feet, L2 is 300 by 75 feet, and L3 is 300 by 75 feet. All three WS-7610 /64 NPIC/R-7481/64 ranges are the revetted, known-distance type range common to level terrain areas. 1,2 appears to be the only range in current use, but L1 appears to be usable. There are three driver-training areas (Fig- ure 5). Ml is for tracked vehicles and possible functions in support of firing range Ni. M2 is a closed-circuit course for tracked vehi- cles. M3 is a closed circuit, possible wheeled- vehicle course associated with the artillery range. There are six tank/assault gun firing ranges. Ni is 3,800 feet long and has nine 2,200-foot lanes, 11 targets, and eight identifiable support buildings. N2 is 4,100 feet long with three 2,800-foot lanes and five targets. N3 is 2,500 feet long with two 700-foot lanes and one target. N4 is 3,300 feet long with six 2,200-foot lanes and four targets. N5 is 3,000 feet long with three 1,000-foot lanes and two targets. N6 is 3,200 feet long with two 2,200-foot lanes and three targets. Artillery Emplacement Area Q is a probable field artillery ?m- placement with fixed-battery line-firing posi- tions. Infantry or Combined-Arms Field-Training Area A probable bivouac, field training area is located approximately 4 km west of the main installation. 6- Handle Via Approved For Release 2000/05/09 : CIA-RDP78B04560A0027QT~n, t 'anly TOP SECRET RUFF Approved For Release 2000/05/09 : CIA-RDP78BO456OA002700010080-1 TOP SECRET RUFF LATENT-KEYHOLE TCS-7610;164 Co-trol System Only \PIC R-%48'64 25X1 D Approved For Release 20e /0iE: AIRD'P-AB04560A002700010080-1 Approved For Release 2000/05/09 : CIA-RDP78BO456OA002700010080-1 TOP SECRET RUFF Handle Via TALENT-KEYHOLE Contra{ System Only KAMYSHLOV MILITARY INSTALLATION 25X1 D Approved For Release 20 W95/( kTRC VB0456OA002700010080-1 TCS-7610/64 NPIC/R-748/64 Handle Via TALENT-KEYHOLE Control System Only HAIppiroved For Release 2040705/ ~&R RDP~AB04560A002700010080-1 TALENT-KEYHOLE Control System Only TCS-7610/64 NPIC/R-748/64 PHOTOGRAPHY 25X1 D US Air Target Chart,, Series 200, Shoot 9156-19A, Ist ed, Feb 59 (SECRET) DOCUMENTS ARMY.
