Postavy Fixed Field Site No 2 is located in a low wooded area approximately 3.5 nautical miles (nm) north of Bogatoye. The field site was not present on -photography (Mis- sion -and was first apparent in- TCS-7890/64 NPIC/R-859/64 sidered complete on photog- 25X1 D raphy, which is the earliest KEYHOLE cover- age of the area. Launch Area No 3 was identi- fied in a rnidstage of construction in and was observed in a late stage Launch Area No 1 and the Fixed I~'ield Site No 1 are less than a mile apart, and approximately 19 nm northeast of Fixed Field Site No 2. The hard launch area is 15.3 nm to the east-northeast. Fixed Fieed Site No 2 (Figure 2) contains a large, loop road pattern with small clearings along the southern portion of the loop and four padlike clearings along the northern portion. Each of the padlike clearings is elongated and has a small. turnaround loop on one side. Erec- tor-like objects and three ready tents are visible Subsequent photography _ depicted erector- like objects on each of four padlike clearings and at least three ready tents or buildings were seen in a large nearby clearing. KEYHOLE 25X1 D coverage during the remaining portion of _ 25X1 D indicated that the field site was inactive, with the erector-like objects and ready tents or buildings absent. Postavy Launch Areas No 1, 2, and the Fixed Field Site No 1 were all apparent and con- at the site on Mission -however, no ve- 25X1 D hicles are discernible on the road network.
