This report supplements NPIC/R-66/64, 1/
which discusses the Slonim MRBM Complex,
previously consisting of two Type I launch
areas, and describes the Slonim Fixed Field
MRBM Site.
The fixed field site (Figure 1) is located
in a flat and wooded area approximately 5.5
nautical miles (nm) west-northwest of Byten.
The site was first seen on photographic cover-
age of and can be
negated on photographic coverage of-
Launch Areas No 1 and 2
were first observed in
_ and both were considered complete in
Launch Area No 1 is located 2 nm south-
southwest of the fixed field site and Launch Area
No 2 is located 1.2 nm north-northwest of the
field site. Launch Areas No 1 and 2 are oriented
on azimuths of approximately 35 degrees.
A rail-to-road transfer point for Launch
Areas No 1 and 2 and the field site probably
is at Domanovo, approximately 7 nm south-
east. Roads to Domanovo are improved.
The fixed field site (Figure 2) consists
of two elongated launch positions with loop
roads connecting each to the access roads.
The launch positions are oriented on azimuths
of approximately 35 degrees and- are spaced
approximately 300 feet apart. The only equip-
ment evident at the field site on the photo-
graphic coverages listed was in -
when an unidentified linear
object was present on one of the positions.
No supporting facilities have been observed
in or adjacent to this field site.
