The naval complex on the west edge of Ching-tao contains a submarine
base a surface ship berthing area, a commercial port,
and a naval dockyard
The submarine base contains 1 quay, 1 finger and 4 floating piers,
POL tanks, 3 bunkers, and 47 buildings.
The surface ship berthing area contains 2 quays, 1 mole, and 30
buildings. The commercial port contains 3 moles, a boat harbor, 8 piers,
1 marine railway, 11 boat repair ways, and numerous buildings.
The naval dockyard contains 1 graving dock, 1 marine railway, 1
buildingway, 1 T-head pier, 3 pontoon piers, and 41 buildings. In the same
harbor is a fishery/port area with 9 piers and a marginal wharf.

Lu-ta Shipyard is also known as Lu-ta Shipyard Darien 25X1A
and is on the south shore of Lu-ta harbor. The town of Lu-ta is also known
as Ta-lien and Darien.
Shipyard contains 2 basins, 2 moles (the larger being quayed), 1 L-head
and 17 finger piers, 2 graving docks, 3 buildingways, at least 11 rail-
mounted cranes, 1 floating crane, a ---bay fabrication/assembly building, and
numerous smaller buildings.

One finger pier on the north edge of Wei-hai and the naval base on the
western tip of Liu-kung Tao comprise the naval complex.
Facilities at the naval base include a rectangular harbor protected by
2 breakwaters, 1 T-head pier, 1 finger pier, 1 marginal wharf, 1 slip, an
end-haul marine railway with transverses serving 7 storage/repair ways, 2
vertical POL tanks (probably semi-buried), at least 4 bunkers, and approxi-
mately 80 buildings.
