On a semi-circular inlet 9 nm SSW of Ting-hai, Chou Shan Island.
The Motor Torpedo Boat (MTB) Base contains 4+ floating offshore wharfs,
3 pier/wharf approaches, 2 boat storage quays served by 1 floating crane,
a side-haul marine railway with transverser serving 18 storage/repair ways,
numerous boat cradles, at least 2 vertical, probable POL storage tanks, a
two-entrance tunnel, 1 double-bay repair hall and approximately 80 other
associated buildings.

The main base, also known as Ting-hai Naval Base Chou Shan Island M 25X1A
is 1.3 nm SE of Ting-hai. The Naval Base West, also known
as Chou Shan Port Facilities West is 2.2 nm WSW of Ting-hai. 25X1A
Facilities at the main base include 2 floating offshore wharves, 1
T-head pier, 3 semi-buried water tanks, at least 3 cave adits, 1 bunker, 28
administration buildings/barracks, and 50 other buildings; a POL storage area
with 1 buried vertical tank, 13 horizontal tanks, 50 drums in open storage,
and several buildings; and a supply area with 1 floating offshore wharf, 1
large, 2 medium, and 3 small vertical POL tanks, 7 horizontal POL tanks, and
20 buildings.
Facilities at the naval base west include 3 T-head piers, 1 pier appro-
ach, 1 horizontal tank, and 50 buildings.
