The Naval Base West, also known as Chou Shan Port Facilities West is 2.2 nm WSW of Ting-hai. 25X1A Facilities at the main base include 2 floating offshore wharves, 1 T-head pier, 3 semi-buried water tanks, at least 3 cave adits, 1 bunker, 28 administration buildings/barracks, and 50 other buildings; a POL storage area with 1 buried vertical tank, 13 horizontal tanks, 50 drums in open storage, and several buildings; and a supply area with 1 floating offshore wharf, 1 large, 2 medium, and 3 small vertical POL tanks, 7 horizontal POL tanks, and 20 buildings.
