MEMORANDUM FOR THE RECORD
SUBJECT: Environmental Problems in the HPSC
Clean Room
1. A meeting was held in the RED Conference Room on'
8 July 1971 to discuss the temperature and humidity problem 25X1A
existing in the= lean Room. In attendance were:

2. nformed the group 1-had stated
that calibre ion an alignment of the instrument could not
proceed until the temperature and humidity of,the Clean Room
and Cabinets were brought within specifications. Logistics
was asked if it was long range job to accomplish this task or
if it could be corrected in a few days. 25X1A
3. xplained that the Clean Room system was
designed in 1969 ozL the basis that the building could provide
chilled water at 420F.; Since that time additional requirements
have been placed on the building and the water can only be
chilled to 480 on warm days. He said that several solutions
were available, some taking up to a month to accomplish. 25X1A
4. I Ltated that a.great deal of damage could
be done to the instrument and the electronics due to the
humidity. He also said he had five men here on TDY and costs
were wiping out any profit might have hoped to realize on
this contract. He hoped that a solution could be achieved in
much less than a month. 25X1A

5. I lexpressed his worry that the instrument may
sustain damage from humidity and that an immediate short term
correction was required.
6. said that if overtime was' authorized,.he 25X1A
thought he could have a fix completed by 13 July 1971.
