HIGH PRECISION STEREOCOMPARATOR
1.1 The OHPS scheduled to be installed during
the last quarter of FY 70 will require emergency maintenance during the
test and evaluation phase and preventive and emergency maintenance
during its operational life.
2.1 The EPB/ESD/TSSG shall be responsible for providing in-house
6r obtaining contractual preventive and emergency maintenance during the
instrument's operational life. Emergency maintenance, including spare
parts required during the test and evaluation phase at NPIC, shall be the
responsibility of the R&D contractor.
M Maintenance of software shall be the responsibility of AID/PSG
@kdept for standard. test or diagnostic routines used for equipment main-
tenance purposes which will be the responsibility of EPB/ESD/TSSG.
2.3 Maintenance will include periodic checks for accuracy for machine
6alibration purposes. Special targets and diagnostic programs may require
development under a separate contract.
2.1+ Maintenance of the HPS Clean Room.to predetermined levels shall
be the responsibility of LB/SSD. Clean room environmental monitoring data
shall be made available to ESD for maintenance problem analysis when
necessary.
2.5 First echelon maintenance levels will be determined jointly by
EPB and the operating division.
3.1 Spare parts required for preventive and emergency maintenance
during the machine's operational life will be procured under contract.
Procurement action will be initiated by ESD.
3.2 Spare parts storage space will be required. at the Stereocom-
parator location. Three 36" X 18" double-door cabinets should be adequate
for this purpose.

4. SPECIAL TOOLS
4.1 Special tools and test equipment required for maintenance
purposes will be determined during the course of the development con-
tract. Contractor recommendations will be reviewed by ESD.
4.2 Special tools and test equipment not included in the develop-
ment contract will be procured by ESD to become part of the ESD tool and
test equipment inventory.
5. MAINTENANCE DATA
5.1 Maintenance manuals and engineering data required for preven-
tive and emergency maintenance and calibration shall be provided under
the terms of the development contract. Manuals and engineering data
will be reviewed by ESD personnel for adequacy during the development
contract period of performance.
6. TRAINING

6.1 Maintenance training for lead technicians will be acquired
during periodic visits to the contractor facility during the develop-
ment phase. Additional training will be acquired, during the test and
evaluation phase at the Center.
6.2 Maintenance training on the omputer will be 25X1
required for two electronic specialists. Training will consist of three
weeks (estimated) of instruction at a ocation and preferably 2 5X1, 11 1 two separate sessions.
6.3 Special training on the optical subsystem will be required for
one optical technician, two to three weeks in February 1971970, working with
personnel during optics installation and check-out I I Familiar- 25X1A
ization?with procedures, including degree of difficulty, will aid decision
on amount of contractual maintenance support required.
7. FUNDING
7.1 Funding (FY 70) will be required for spare parts for the
Stereocomparator. Budgeting (forecasting and requisition initiation)
provisions are the responsibility of ESD.
7.2 Funding (FY 70) will be required for any special tools required
for maintenance and, calibration of the machine. Budgeting (forecasting
and requisition initiation) provisions are the responsibility of ESD.
7.3 Funding (FY 70) for training on thel Computer 25X1
will be required. Requirements will be determined by EPB E D and TB/SSD.

7.11 Funding (F 71) for contract maintenance support may be required.
Budgeting provisions (forecasting and requisition initiation) are the
responsibility of ESD.
8. MANPOWER
8.1 The manpower requirement for preventive and emergency main-
tenance and calibration is estimated at one man-year on-a continuing
basis.
