This Fifth Monthly Progress Report Covers the Period
21 September :L16L+. to 20 October 196Li.
The design of the optical system is complete . The drawing for
the optical system is in preparation and will be finished very
early in the next reporting period. The tentative values of
several parameters for the system are as follows:

The field size at that stage.:.. of the design was given as 3.5111,T. at
18X. This has enlarged somewhat as stated above.
After mechanical design of rye instrument a mock-up will be made
for determining ? the? size and handling ease of-the. instrument.
The mock-up will probably be snide of wood.
The delivery date was discussed and it was stated that the 'March
date would be improved if eill, all possible.
