I found out why the delay occurred with the first two packages. Our front office
sent the packages to a non-existent address and they were returned to Hopefully,
we are straightened out now. STATINTL
Enclosed are five blank tapes numbered as follows: 000383, 000384, 000493,
000546, 000547. Also, the 70mm film can contains the desaturated step wedges on
S. O. 121 and 8443 emulsions. Since we decided to concentrate only on 8443, S. O. 121
and S. O. 151 (2448) camera original materials as far as system calibration goes, you
need only trace the wedges on these specific materials.
I want you to trace 10 step wedges plus neutral on each of the emulsions. On
emulsion 151-23-32, roll code 07SE151DSW1 and on emulsion 121-34-2, roll code
06DE121DSW4 trace the following step wedges:

Trace these wedges as you did the others, with a 1 x 80 micron slit.

Concerning the programming effort, the characteristic vector program appears to
be operating satisfactorily. It takes considerable time to run, but when you put it into
machine language, it should cut down its run time considerably. The next program you
will be getting in a week or two will be the color ensemble averaging routine. I would
like to test this one out with real data, however, before we send it to you. The program
is being documented at the present time.
I will be on vacation over the holidays starting 19 December and ending 30 December,
so the next shipment will probably be after the first of the year.
